Norfolk Offshore Wind Zone site investigation

Norfolk Zone wind farms are located off the coast of Great Yarmouth, UK. With a planned capacity of 4.2 GW, the zone will be one of the largest offshore wind developments in the world.
Great Yarmouth, North Sea

Scope
Geophysical, seismic, environmental & geotechnical surveys
- UXO surveys along the export cable routes and inter-array cable corridors
- Seismic and sub-bottom profiling surveys
- Geotechnical investigations (CPT and Vibrocore) along the cable routes
- WROV-based depth-of burial surveys of existing cables
- Laboratory testing
- Debris survey and removal
- Environmental surveys
- Reporting and data processing

Execution
N-Sea’s smart solution
N-Sea proposed mobilising five specialised vessels, each suited to specific project scopes requiring unique equipment and expertise. By delivering all survey scopes under a single contractor, interfaces between workstreams were reduced and simultaneous offshore operations were optimised.
N-Sea was also awarded the UXO route clearance scope, which was completed in 2025.
