Life Saving Rules
We are committed to creating a safe working environment, physically, socially and psychologically, with the goal of eliminating life-changing incidents. Our 10 Life Saving Rules guide behaviour at all levels of our organisation and among our partners, fostering a proactive safety culture. Each Life Saving Rule is sponsored by a member of our leadership team.
Permits
Always ensure the required plans and permits are in place before you start a job
Correct Tools
Always use tools and equipment that are fit for the intended purpose
Competency
Never undertake any job unless you have been trained and assessed as competent
Sobriety
Never work, or operate vehicles or machinery, while under the influence of drugs or alcohol
Isolation
Be aware of line of fire, verify isolation and ensure zero energy before work begins
Fall Protection
Always use approved fall protection equipment when working at height
Secure tools
Always secure tools, loose materials and equipment to prevent them from falling
Lifting Operations
Always be aware of lifting operations and never position yourself under a suspended load
Barriers & Exclusion Zones
Always maintain a safe distance by honoring barriers and exclusion zones
Disembarkment
Only transfer from a vessel when permission is provided and it is safe to do so
